DESCRIPTION:We invite you to meet with River Authority staff and learn more about the upcoming project.\n**On-site Spanish translation services will be available**\nThe Westside Creeks are located entirely within the City of San Antonio’s urban core in Bexar County, Texas, extending west and northwest of downtown with a segment extending south of downtown to the San Antonio River. The project limits are based upon the 1954 federal San Antonio Channel Improvement Project (SACIP) that addressed flooding on San Pedro, Apache, Alazán, and Martínez Creeks. The project will reconstruct the creeks into more natural channels, while maintaining the present level of flood mitigation protection. Using ecosystem restoration and recreation benefits as a foundation, the project will provide significant environmental justice and community benefits, such as improving environmental and water quality conditions in a densely populated urban area.\n
